Campaign finance reform is the single most important issue of our time because it affects all other issues. When multimillionaires like our opponent can buy elections, the rich get richer and the working and middle class get poorer. We must return to a public financing election system that was in place for 33 years before 2011 in the state of Wisconsin so you don’t have to be super wealthy to run for public office to serve the residents in this state. The middle class should be represented in Wisconsin by middle class representatives, not millionaires and billionaires.
We must overturn the disastrous Supreme Court decision known as “Citizen’s United” that allows corporations to spend unlimited amounts of money on elections. When corporations can buy elections it’s not democracy, it’s oligarchy. We can overturn this by having two thirds of the states call for an Article V Convention to propose a Constitutional Amendment.
